South Korea’s largest auto parts maker, Hyundai Mobis Company (HMC), was recently awarded a contract to produce chassis modules for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. HMC engaged Plante Moran CRESA (PMC) to act as their independent tenant representative in conducting site location analysis, identifying and procuring real estate, and investigating any possible incentives to support the project.
PMC identified numerous locations in multiple states for sale and lease including the site ultimately selected by HMC, a 167,000 square-foot facility in Detroit, MI. PMC helped HMC navigate all procedural, relational, legal and strategic components necessary to acquire the building. Additionally, PMC helped HMC procure both MEGA job creation tax credits and approval for an extension of Renaissance Zone status formerly applied to the building, with a collective total worth of over $6 million.
