Warren Consolidated Schools (WCS) is the fifth largest school district in Michigan. When WCS determined that they needed to optimize renovation of all 29 of their aging buildings as well as add new facilities they partnered with Plante Moran CRESA. PMC assisted the district by acting as an owner’s representative for the program including the procurement of design and construction services.
Program management included coordinating and managing three design teams and three construction teams based on suitability to the project. PMC developed a strategy that would expedite the district’s schedule and adhere to its $150 million budget while expanding the project beyond its original scope. PMC successfully executed this strategy, maximizing use of funds and meeting numerous detailed tracking requirements in order to benefit from multiple bond funding sources. As program manager, PMC was able to help the district complete the entire project in half the estimated time resulting in savings to the district of $8 million.
