In 2008 Trinity Senior Living Communities began an $8 million project to renovate and expand The Sanctuary at Fraser Villa. This senior living community is currently home to 141 skilled nursing beds and 71 home-for-the-aged-beds.
The new addition will function as a Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. The two story building is comprised of three sections, two outer sections housing 48 private rooms and a middle section that will house common spaces, group dining, laundry, med rooms and offices. The basement level will have a state-of-the-art therapy department with physical, occupational and speech therapy. It will also have a pool for exercise and therapeutic treatments. The basement level also includes, barber/beauty, café, multipurpose room and storage and mechanical spaces.
Challenges
A severe winter delayed the project by several months, and scope and budget items crept into the project.
