Michigan First Credit Union

Lathrup Village, MI

Michigan First Credit Union’s facilities were too small and did not reflect the image the Board of Directors wanted to portray to members and staff.

PMC helped Michigan First throughout the process. They are extremely proud of their new facility – and thrilled with the growth they have experienced since their move.

Challenges

Growth: Michigan First Credit Union had outgrown their existing headquarters in Detroit. Future growth was expected in northern Detroit and southern Oakland County.

Facility Improvements: Michigan First Credit Union needed an updated facility to accommodate customer service and staffing needs.

Time and Expertise: Michigan First Credit Union professionals did not have experience in real estate transactions, nor the time to devote to a full-time design and construction project.

Solutions

A highly visible six-acre site was located on the 696 freeway in Lathrup Village.

Agreements were negotiated with existing tenants to vacate the site.

Agreements were negotiated with the Village to customize the layout of the land, resulting in an additional 1.5 acres and relocating a cell tower.

Using an exclusive selection process, Victor Saroki & Associates was selected as the architect.

The new building design proudly reflects the strength of the credit union
