Alicia is a principal at Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, and brings over 35 years of diverse design and construction experience to her clients. She specializes in project feasibility, programming, design management, preconstruction planning, and construction project oversight for large and complex projects. Her comprehensive expertise has always proved to be invaluable to her clients nationwide.
Alicia joined PMR in 2008, overseeing projects in the corporate, industrial, government, and senior living sectors. She’s had the honor of being an integral member of many of Detroit’s largest projects, of note, the Little Caesars Arena and the District Detroit, a progressive sports, entertainment, and mixed-use development. As project director, she led the owner’s onsite team that oversaw the design, construction, and coordination of tenants. After, Alicia transitioned into a leadership role for PMR’s program management team, ushering the team through unprecedented growth from 20 to more than 50 staff. She was responsible for process and procedures, risk, staff development, and business metrics. She’s now returned to program management full-time.
Prior to PMR, Alicia was with General Motors’ Worldwide Facilities - Capital Projects Group as the lead project manager for the Southeast Michigan Plan at the Milford Proving Grounds. Over the course of five years, she oversaw more than $230 million worth of work on testing facilities, offices, and test roads. After transitioning to project planning, Alicia led the master site planning for expansions and contractions at GM’s combined engineering and manufacturing campuses worldwide.
Alicia’s career began in residential construction, custom designing homes and working as a trim carpenter. She then moved on to Albert Kahn Associates, Inc. Starting as a field representative, Alicia quickly gained the expertise that led to her promotion to project manager, an advancement that helped expand her expertise to include medical, industrial, and commercial projects.
Alicia earned a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering with an emphasis in construction management from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science in management from Walsh College. She is a LEED-accredited professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), as well as a past board member of CREW Detroit (Commercial Real Estate Women).
