As the ninth largest school district in Michigan, Livonia Public Schools (LPS) aims to provide innovative, future-forward offerings to its students and the LPS community. In 2021, voters approved a $186 million bond proposal to improve and upgrade the district’s classrooms, technology, and security. Included in the bond was the addition of a new robotics center.

Previously housed in LPS’s new Early Childhood Center (formerly Dickinson Junior High), the former robotics classroom served as an after-school collaboration and practice space for the tri-school robotics team. After 13 seasons with multiple accolades, the Warriors needed a transformative space that offered collaborative workstations and technical machinery.

The robotics center is the newest addition to the Livonia Career Technical Center (LCTC), which houses multiple trade and alternative classes for students across the district. The 19,000-square-foot addition includes two robotics labs, additional flex classrooms, student collaboration areas, a glass-front corridor, medical simulation labs, and more.

As owner’s representative, Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, has worked alongside the district and the project team to bring the robotics center to life. Our role is focused on helping keep the program on budget and on schedule while coordinating a team environment among the program’s stakeholders.

PMR has a long-standing history of serving LPS. We are proud to continue to work with the district as a trusted advisor. Congratulations to our client on another successful grand opening!
