Jim Breznau, AIA, Vice President
Higher Education

As Vice President of higher education, Jim provides expertise in market research, strategic planning and project management to universities and colleges across the Midwest.

Jim has more than 27 years of experience in the design and construction industries, including key positions with some of Detroit’s leading architectural and construction firms. His experience extends across multiple service sectors including higher education, municipal, healthcare, science and research, sports arenas and stadiums, corporate headquarters, office and retail developments, housing, and industrial facilities.

Jim's vast experience enables him to serve as a knowledgeable client advocate, ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined and project deliverables are well conceived, coordinated and completed. His list of higher education clients includes Michigan State University, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Ball State University, Indiana University Lake Superior State University and Northwestern University Technological Institute.

Jim received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from Lawrence Technological University and became a licensed architect in 1983. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and member of the American Institute of Architects. He is active as a corporate member in several professional organizations including Midwest Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers, Society for College and Urban Planning and Construction Owners Association of America.
